Content

1. Introductory lectures on the basic anthropological assumptions of moral agency (the diaphoric, the symbolic, freedom and incomprehension).
2. Analysis of the relation of the human being to the ability of moral agency, especially in the times of pluralism and relativisation of values.
3. Moral agency in traditional societies (problem of moral agency in religions)
4. Moral agency in secular societies (autonomous agency and the issue of liberty)
5. Difference between ethics and morals, ethicalness and morality, autonomy and heteronomy.
6. The ethical as a metasymbolic deconstruction of the symbolic.
7. Short history of basic ethical concepts (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Aurelius, Hobbes, Spinoza, Kant, Mill, Jonas, Rawls, Apel, etc.)
8. Traditional ethics of mutual relationships and the possible shift toward universal ethics of responsibility, related to entities in their entirety.
9. Ethicalness as a life stance; development of a positive, optimistic understanding of life and man's position in it.
