Content
Course investigates the connection between capitalist economy and contemporary forms of exercise of social power. To this end, we start with a short description of the way capitalist economy works as to later arrive to a necessity and structure of capitalist class relation. After this general introduction, we continue with contemporary crisis and fracturing of class relations, related to automatisation and financialisation.
The second half of the semester is dedicated to relations of social domination that are connected with, but irreducible to class relation - racial and gender relation - and to investigation of their social sites, that is, social reproduction and illegal life beyond the wage relation. Such a structural analysis of prevalent forms of social domination is illustrated with case studies of contemporary neo- and post-fascism.
