Lectures: 20

ECTS credit: 6

The course examines journalistic genres as a place where the narrative process of the linguistic objectivity and subjectivity and the linguistic precision and creativity meet. Through the analysis and the production of various texts students get to know the reasons for the adaptation of writing procedures in order to meet expectations of various addressees and their genre literacy. The existing description of journalistic genres is updated with their language characteristics (orthography, lexis, syntax, text formation, norm variations, etc.). The connections between the textual and co-textual elements (photography, figures, graphics, typography, etc.) are analyzed as well.
