The course Interculturality of the Slovene territory consists of lectures and a seminar.
Lectures cover two problem areas:
- Slovene cultural history and the social, (geo)political, economic changes in the Slovene territory in the light of interculturality (lecture and seminar) and
- Slovene language and literature in an intercultural position (lecture).

The following subjects will be analysed more in detail:

- selected topics in Slovene cultural history, the most important turning points in the Slovene history, and their influence on the development in an intercultural perspective;
- the historical and current regional division of the Slovene territory, regional development;
- the situation of minorities in Slovenia, the situation of the Slovene minority in the neighboring States; the migration policy and integration in the Slovene society (compared to the situation in Europe and in a broader social perspective);
- Slovene media in the past and present; the influence of new media on society, culture and science;
- cultural institutions, cultural policy, institutional and non-institutional culture
and
- the Slovene political, legal and educational system, healthcare and social security, economic development.

- the history of Slovene in translations;
- the function of translation in the development of (standard) Slovene and the development of Slovene literature; key translations from the tenth century onwards;
- the function of translation in promoting Slovene literary and broader cultural production in the past and today
and
- the function of translation in establishing standard Slovene language norms.

In the seminar, the students prepare a short essay and take some guided tours (cultural monuments of Ljubljana, National and University Library, theatre performance etc.
