Special topics in Modern and Contemporary Art in Slovenia

Lectures are related to the ongoing research work by the lecturer and are addressing open professional issues. The content changes each year. Lectures are presented both through sets of thematically or otherwise defined cycles and through specific chapters. (e. g.: issues of expressionism in Slovene arts; avantguards; sources and forms of abstract art in Slovenia; question of symbolism in Slovene painting; the relationship between visual art and literature, the relationship between art history and criticism; monographic presentations of central or overlooked artists, opportunities and ways of interpretation of the portrait and landscape painting in the 19th century; methodological approaches in the Slovenian art history from Izidor Cankar on, etc..).
