Asst. Prof. Dr. Anja Hellmuth Kramberger

Anja Hellmuth Kramberger, born 1978 in Berlin (Germany), studied Prehistoric and Near Eastern Archaeology as well as Antique History at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Degrees Magistra Artium (2005) and Dr. phil. (2008) at Freie Universität Berlin, docentka za arheologijo (2015) at the Faculty of Arts, University in Ljubljana. Travelling Scholar of the German Archaeological Institute in 2009, Feodor-Lynen Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation between 2009-2013. Since 2015 teaching the History of the Ancient Orient at the University in Ljubljana, between 2017-2019 research assistant in the EU-project Iron-Age-Danube, in 2018/2019 teaching Bronze- and Iron Age in the Adriatic at the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz. Between 2016-2018 research excavations on a prehistoric hillfort in Istria as Korean-Croatian joint project. Research topics are the Bronze- and Iron Age between the eastern Middle Europe, the Eurasian Steppe region, the Adriatic and Western Asia, mounted nomads, archery, iron age female attire, bronze age pottery, settlement systems and long- distance communication networks.
