Network sources and collecting network data.
Computer programs (Pajek) for analysis and visualisations of different types of networks.
Basic network properties: degree, density, paths, shortest paths, distance, diameter.
Centrality and importance of the units: the measures of centrality and prestige, network centralization.
Groups of nodes: cluster, partition, connectivity, components, cliques, cores.
Community detection methods.
Islands.
Two mode networks and multiplying networks.
Blockmodeling: equivalences, the methods for direct and indirect blockmodeling, standard blockmodels (e.g., center-periphery, hierarchy).
